Welcome 2010!!

Ready or not, 2010 is here! The New Year is known for a fresh start, and after 2009 that's exactly what my family needs. We are told we shouldn't dwell on the past but look to the future. That is exactly what I am trying to do. I refuse to make New Year's resolutions because I usually falter a few weeks after I start them. Though I do intend to make some changes I refuse to call them "resolutions."

With the long list of "bad" things that happened in 2009 there is also a list of positive things! I am thankful for a the guidance that the big guy above has given me, a healthy family (well semi healthy - not considering Eric's surgery and recovery), a roof over my head and food in my tummy. Could be worse. :)

As 2010 rolls on (whether we are ready or not) I hope my relationship with God continues to grow and that when hard times hit I can turn to him. It sure is amazing the good he has brought into my life this year when I truly opened up my heart. Some would say I have finally grown up, or maybe we have to take those wrong turns before we can hit the right road. I pray that those near and dear to me know how much they mean to me... even when I don't tell them. With every negative thing that happened this year I can actually look at it and find a positive or two wrapped up in there.

So for those of you who have followed my journey this last year, I thank you! Those who are about to start, WELCOME! I can promise you one thing! Following the Kaiser story is never boring! Hop on board! 2010 is going to be a great ride!

A Much Needed GETAWAY!

Well our annual trip to the Kalahari has arrived! Why is it that you can never sleep the night before you leave for a much needed getaway? I am an overthinker. I must make lists and go over them numerous times before I am happy. The kids all have their bags packed and I will do mine in the morning. We never schedule a time to leave when driving because it just stresses everyone out. We leave when we are ready. :)

I have my book (the 4th book in the Twilight series) ready to start. I will sit in a lounge chair while the kids splash in the waterpark and play in the theme park. By Tuesday I will be ready to get home to reality. :) As for now I have a load of laundry waiting to be folded and one to be dried... ((Yawn)). Think I may be able to sleep. At least I sure hope so!

Night!
